Katherine Bullock joined Field Court Tax Chambers in 2018, having previously been a senior tax partner with two Big 4 Professional services firms, as head of the UK Private Client Practice and then as the head of the Private Client Practice for Europe, Middle East, India and Asia.
Ms Bullock obtained her law degree from St John’s College, Cambridge, and was called to the Bar in 1988. She is a Chartered Tax Adviser, member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, a Certified Financial Planner, member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, and a member of the Family Firm Institute.
She was recognised as one of Private Client Practitioner’s ’50 Most Influential Private Client Advisers’ in both 2013, 2014 and 2018 and as one of Spear’s 500 and Top 50 Tax Advisers in 2018.
Ms Bullock advises on all areas of personal and corporate taxation, with extensive experience of private clients and their companies, trusts and other structures, both domestic and international. She has advised some of the wealthiest individuals in the UK on their business, family and charitable interests, including entrepreneurs, private business owners, executives, landed estates, trustees and family companies.
Typical situations include succession planning, structuring property holdings, untangling offshore and onshore trusts, funding lifestyle assets, restructuring or disposing of the family business, tax-efficient investment, setting up charities and residence or domicile issues.
Her blend of broad commercial and strategic experience together with technical depth over a wide range of taxes means that she is uniquely placed to solve multi-disciplinary problems and navigate complex tax challenges.
